All lifeguarding participants must complete the required swimming skills prerequisite prior to taking the course. The prerequisite skills assessments include a swim-tread-swim, brick dive retrieval, and a 300 yard swim test. Throughout the course, participants will learn and be evaluated on knowledge and skills related to lifeguarding, water rescues, extractions, CPR and AED and First Aid. Approximately 8-10 hours of online pre-course work is required prior to the start of the in-person certification portion of the class. Must be at least 15 years old. Participants are required to list an email in order to participate in the course.
